    As contemplated by the America’s Cup Arbitration Panel when they made their Order on the 21st October with regard to the usage of the inner Harbour race Courses (Courses B and C), the Defender Emirates Team New Zealand tabled a proposal with the Challenging teams in an effort to resolve the issue and return racing to the inner city race courses.

    On Friday 23rd October, Britannia, INEOS TEAM UK’s new race boat for the 36th America’s Cup, took flight on her first sail out of the Waitematā Harbour.After a full on week for the systems and shore team completing the final fit out, the British team was met by a 165 strong fleet of racing boats about to start New Zealand’s largest coastal regatta ‘The Coastal Classic’ as they exited the Viaduct for their maiden sail.

    Despite the wind turning light and complicated for the last two days, maxi yacht competition at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez was successfully held on three out of four days. The event that traditionally concludes the inshore maxi sailing season in the Mediterranean was lengthened to two weeks this year. The smaller yachts raced in week one leaving the maxis (yachts of 18.29+ m) to race exclusively over four days in the second.

    New York Yacht Club American Magic, the U.S. Challenger for the 36th America's Cup, has decommissioned its first AC75, DEFIANT. The planned conclusion of DEFIANT's testing lifecycle follows a stretch of sailing that began in September 2019 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, continued on to Pensacola, Florida, and ended in Auckland after 12 months of hard testing and unprecedented performance.
