    Sergio Caramel e il team di Arkanoé by Montura (4-10-1) subito protagonisti a Trieste, dove nella giornata odierna ha avuto inizio la seconda tappa delle Melges 24 European Sailing Series. Organizzato dalla Società Triestina Sport del Mare, l'evento ha chiamato a raccolta una ventina di equipaggi dalla variegata provenienza internazionale.

    Una leggera flessione nel finale ha impedito all'equipaggio di Arkanoé by Montura di lottare per il podio Corinthian del primo Act delle Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2022. Da Rovigno, dopo un ottimo inizio, valso il terzo posto overall provvisorio, il team di Sergio Caramel, complici condizioni meteo complicate, ha faticato più del previsto a prendere le misure al campo di regata e a una flotta apparsa con il passare dei giorni sempre più competitiva.

    Inizia in grande stile la stagione 2022 di Arkanoé by Montura (oggi 4-8-4). Il Melges 24 di Sergio Caramel, da anni tra i protagonisti di questa spettacolare e competitiva classe one design, ha chiuso la prima giornata di regate valide per le Melges 24 European Sailing Series al terzo posto della classifica provvisoria, attualmente guidata dai croati di Mataran24 (1-3-7), guidati dal timoniere Ante Botica, con un punto di margine su Universitari Nova (3-6-3), timonato dall'olimpionico Ivan Gaspic.

    The International Meles 24 Class Association (IM24CA) is in love with the Adriatic Sea. Some venues are clearly demonstrating this: after the 2021 European Championship, held in Portoroz, Slovenia past September and won by Andrea Racchelli’s Altea, the 2022 Melges 24 European Sailing Series will start again from the Adriatic Sea, but just a little further in South, in amazing Rovinj, well known pearl of the Croatian shoreline.

    After starting the season of the European Sailing Series 2021 in Malcesine in June, the second event of the series for the international Melges 24 class is underway in another beautiful spot of Garda Lake, Riva del Garda this weekend, on July 23-25. Fraglia Vela Riva together with the Italian Melges 24 Class Association is hosting eighteen teams from nine countries – Germany, Great Britain, Estonia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and Italy, at the event considered also Act 4 of the Italian Melges24Tour.

    Earlier this month, the International Melges 24 Class Association (IM24CA) confidently announced it would move forward with conducting the 2021 World Championship on April 9-17 in Charleston, S.C., immediately following Charleston Race Week (read full statement). My how time flies. As hard as it may be to believe, it has been a full year since the originally scheduled event was officially postponed due to the progressing COVID-19 pandemic.
