On Thursday, April 24, Team SCA set off on their first transatlantic passage, sailing from their training base in Lanzarote to Newport. The 3750-nautical mile passage is due to take about twelve days. A French, avid, reader of VSail, and astute observer, noticed that Team SCA is using sliders over the pedestals to transfer sails from one side of the deck to the other while no such device can be seen on the Dongfeng or Team Brunel VO65's. Aren't the VO65's supposed to be one-design?
